By using a G Suite account:

  • Log in to your Work mail account. 
  • Draft a mail as usual and choose your recipitents.

  • At your right-hand corner, you will find an arrow that opens to a drop-down list. 
  • Choose Request read receipt to send the receipts to the users and send your email. 

You will receive a notification in the email when the users open this mail.

 

By using a G Suite admin account:

  •  Login into your G Suite admin console.

  • Go to apps after logging in. Choose G Suite.

         You can access all your work-related services in this section.

  • Select Gmail from the list of services in your account.

  • Scroll down on the settings page of Gmail and move to Advanced Settings.
  • In the Advanced Settings, find Email Read Receipts.

  • Here, you can choose the read receipts to be sent and whom to be sent.

The Do not allow Read Receipts to be sent box is checked by default.

Uncheck the box to send read receipts. You can either send the receipts to select a few or all the users. Also, you can customize by choosing to read receipts manually or automatically.

By using alternatives:

Instead of using the default method of requesting read receipts in Gmail, you can adopt to few Chrome extensions or plugins.
