Love listening to podcasts on Spotify? Here’s good news for you. The streaming service has revamped the podcast section of its app to make it more appealing and useful. By doing so, Spotify has made it straightforward to explore and preview podcasts in which you might be interested. The redesign mainly focuses on individual podcast pages.
Spotify has shuffled various UI elements to showcase useful information at the top of the screen. The company announced yesterday that podcast descriptions would be more distinguished with the new placement. In the new design, they now exist underneath the “follow” button, without having to swipe to find out about the show. The genre tags are introduced under each description and can be selected to find similar podcasts.
However, the main notable change is that the new UI will place “trailer” snippets all the way at the top of the episode list, showing a short preview of the podcast. These tweaks have been done to provide you with more insights about a show lot faster.
The streaming service says though the interface has been revamped, the podcast section will retain all of its older features, so the user experience remains familiar.
The recent purchase of the Ringer and now these UI tweaks in the podcast section clearly indicates that Spotify wants podcast to be its next big thing to lure more people in using its service.
