Tips for attacking, defending and shooting in Rainbow 6 Siege for beginners
R6 is a full-fledged project from the Ubisoft company, which invites players to try themselves in the role of a special forces soldier who storms a fortified object captured by terrorists as part of a detachment, or, on the contrary, to be the same criminal who needs to accomplish his plan and not let the police stop him.
The project has a high degree of dynamics, full-fledged destructiveness in each round, a system of agents and weapons and combat techniques with the ability to hug the ground or look around the corner.

Attack
Often it is terrorists who gain a foothold in a building and special forces act as attackers.
To improve your r6 boosting and increase your chances of winning the round, which will add up to a series and winning the match itself.
To win with an attack, you just need to take a few things into account.
- The enemy has strengthened, but you have the majority for the assault
According to the rules of assaults, the attackers must outnumber the defencists by at least three times in order to ensure numerical superiority and cover all dangerous points with fire.
But in Rainbow Six there are equal numbers of players on both teams, so you need to do things differently.
First, terrorists must keep in sight multiple points from which an assault can begin, but the attack has an advantage in the number of simultaneously involved players.
To put it simply, after conducting reconnaissance and choosing a point of attack, 5 players will go to it at once, and if you choose the direction well, you can simply push through the enemies one by one and, under pressure, force them to retreat, lose, or die.
- Conduct reconnaissance
You need to always be able to watch the actions of your opponents and use the unique skills of your heroes to try to figure out where exactly the defense is stronger and where you can strike with less risk.
Sometimes, during reconnaissance, impatient defenders may try to attack you themselves in order to spontaneously try to eliminate at least one attacker and minimize the chances of winning the round and the resulting boost in R6.
- Watch out for mines and cover
The project from Ubisoft combines arcade and realism, so you not only need to play actively and boldly, but also take into account the mechanics of shelters, mining approaches and the most unexpected places in which the enemy may be hiding.
If you are discovered, you need to act quickly but smartly. For example, don’t run into a room, but slowly go around the corner and try to identify all the opponents, and if there are no hostages or a source of potential explosion around, then you can even throw grenades at the enemies.
As for mines, a number of agents can set explosives and various dangerous traps, so you need to either go very carefully, or when such targets are detected, quickly eliminate them, or cut yourself another path.
- If you are playing with a full-fledged squad, then select several directions of attack.
If you have the ability to communicate between players, then you can choose more than one point of attack to introduce confusion into the actions of the defense, especially if the direction of the main attack is unclear to them. For example, one player is making noise in the basement, the second is storming the windows, and the attack started from the roof.
Defense
When playing on defense, you need to do the opposite of the section above, but you have your own tricks.
- Distribute yourself among the points so that all players can cover the room with explosives or hostages
For the attack, or rather the special forces, to win and receive Rainbow 6 boosting, they only need to defuse the bomb, or take out the hostages, and it is not even necessary to kill all the terrorists.
Therefore, if all the defenders are far from each other, they may simply not be able to cope with a targeted assault, and by the time the rest of the terrorists come to help, the round will either be completed or met with an ambush.
It is better to choose one floor and hold it in parallel, covering each other and having the opportunity for everyone to engage in battle at the same time.
In the early stages, it is better to mine several potential approaches and just wait.
- Use mines and grenades
If special forces, without additional reconnaissance, cannot actively use grenades for fear of hitting hostages or a bomb, but terrorists do not have such a problem and they can simply throw them into problem corridors to stop or block assaults.
- Gather information
An attack in any part of the map does not always mean that this is the main assault, and there is always a chance that a fake attack is happening and if everyone reacts to it, the rest of the squad will simply strike in another place and take the defense by surprise.
- Sometimes you can try pushing
This is a combat mechanic when, at the most unexpected moment for an attack, the defenders come out and themselves begin a quick assault, with the goal of destroying at least one attacker to weaken the forces.
This mechanic doesn’t always work, and certainly not from round to round. Otherwise, the enemies will simply adjust, take advantageous positions, kill the player and continue their assault on more favorable terms.
But if you destroy one, or even two attackers, the round is almost guaranteed to end in favor of your team, which will lead to a boost rating in Rainbow Six Siege.
Other tips
If you know or guess the enemy’s location, then don’t be afraid to use pre-fire. This is a mechanic that fires a bullet ahead of the curve, with less risk of getting an enemy shot when inspecting a position.
Launch drones and collect as much information as possible – do not storm or strengthen positions without reconnaissance.
Destroy objects and territory for your own purposes – break through new passages, fill up enemies, fight on your own terms, so as not to give the enemy the initiative.
Always keep an eye on the timer to understand when you need to speed up, or vice versa, you can slow down and think about your next steps in the round and match
